Industrial Components Fabricated with High-Performance AFLAS® Fluoroelastomers Withstand Harsh Operating Conditions in Demanding Applications

Exton, Pa., September 24, 2019 – When parts and components are formulated with AFLAS® fluoroelastomers from AGC Chemicals Americas, they can withstand the most taxing operating conditions in many industrial applications including oil & gas, automotive, chemical processing, wire & cable, heavy-duty diesel, pharmaceutical and food processing.

AGC Chemicals will feature the following high-performance AFLAS grades at booth 448 at the International Elastomer Conference and Expo, October 8-10 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

AFLAS FEPM grades are designed to be laminated directly to dissimilar elastomers, without the need for a tie layer or adhesive. This new lamination technology is ideal for multilayer hose constructions for use in high-pressure, high-temperature areas around automotive engines. AFLAS FEPM fluoroelastomers can withstand continuous service temperatures up to 200 °C and have excellent acid, base, amine and steam resistance.

AFLAS 400E FEPM is an extrusion grade that incorporates a new cure-site monomer. Because it cures rapidly and is colorable, it is ideal for wire and cable constructions as well as multilayer hose and tube.

AFLAS 600X FEPM grade is highly resistant to acids, strong bases, solvents, hydrocarbons, steam, sour oil and amines, as well as extreme temperature ranges and high-pressure environments. It exhibits excellent compression set and faster curing and allows for more flexibility with use of peroxides.

AFLAS 100S, 100H and 150P FEPM grades recently achieved FDA compliance for food contact applications and use in materials designed for FDA temperature conditions A-H. They are an excellent choice as an alternative to silicone, EPDM, FKM and FFKM.

AFLAS PM-1100 and AFLAS PM-3000 FFKM resins are ideal for fabricating components that will be exposed to ultra-high temperatures such as O-rings, gaskets, oilfield seals and packings. These ultra-clean grades are especially useful choices for semiconductor parts and components.
