Induction Atmospheres and Amysa S.A. Announce Vacuum Furnace Marketing Agreement

August 21, 2007: Rochester, NY - Induction Atmospheres (IA) and Amysa Induction S.A. of Switzerland today announced a marketing relationship. The agreement covers European sales and service for IA's VF line of industrial vacuum furnaces.

"This is a big win-win for both companies", says IA President Steve Skewes. "Our marketing partners at Amysa will help us expand our European vacuum furnace business, by providing both the sales and service activities our customers expect."" Amysa Induction President Jean-Claude Piguet adds "We see a large potential market for IA vacuum furnaces in Europe and we look forward to adding this product line to our existing portfolio."

Amysa products have acquired a well-earned reputation for quality, reliability and longevity. Located in Penthalaz, Switzerland, Amysa has over 40 years of experience in building and servicing induction equipment. Their scanning systems, which heat large industrial parts by moving or "scanning" the induction coil across the part surface in a vertical or horizontal direction, are primarily used for heat treating, and preheating for forging. The company has an installed base of over 600 machines worldwide. For more information, please visit the Amysa website at www.amysa.com

IA's VF vacuum furnaces heat parts of virtually any shape in a high-temperature, high-vacuum environment. Designed for continuous flow manufacturing in the work cell, these compact furnaces are ideal for brazing or heat treating parts of unusual shapes and repairing "orphan" parts from other heating processes. GE Aviation recently added the new VF-30 furnace to the company's Lean Lab; a physical manufacturing environment used to facilitate lean enabling technology insertion. "Adding the latest version (VF-30) to the lab allows us to optimize, leverage and promote the VF-30 furnaces currently used in GE Aviation's manufacturing shops," said Aviation's Jeff Wessels.

Founded in 2002, Induction Atmospheres is an independently-owned system integrator with extensive laboratory facilities, engineering expertise, full in-house machining and manufacturing capabilities. Clients such as General Electric, NASA, General Motors, Boston Scientific, Lufthansa Technik and Siemens have purchased IA turnkey heating systems for industrial brazing, welding, hardening and general-purpose induction heating applications.
