Indianapolis-Based Horner Industrial Purchases R.L. Nevitt
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - R.L. Nevitt & Associates, LLC of Louisville has been sold to Horner Industrial Services, Inc., headquartered in Indianapolis.
R.L. Nevitt, a family-owned and operated business, has over 40 years of experience servicing the industrial and mechanical markets in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
President Robert Nevitt, 71, who founded the company in 2002, said that his age and the possibility of retirement influenced his decision to sell. Nevitt will remain in the Louisville location for a period of time to facilitate with the transition between companies. "It transmits me into a gradual stage between working every day and retirement," he said about staying involved in the business for the time being.
Nevitt chose Horner because the two companies have similar regional experience and client bases. "This will allow my customers' services that I currently provide to remain, while also offering a wider range of products and services from Horner," he said.
Founded in 1949, Horner services the electrical, mechanical and hydraulic industries throughout the Midwest in nine locations across Indiana, Ohio, and now Kentucky. With over 350 employees, Horner has the capability to perform in-plant maintenance, field service repairs and industrial fabrication.
Horner has provided services for many large industrial facilities in the Louisville area, and President Alan Horner is pleased about the capability to have a location in proximity to these customers.
When asked what helped solidify this decision, Horner said, "R.L. Nevitt's reputation precedes them, and made this acquisition a natural progression in our strategy to expand beyond our Indianapolis base."
Nevitt looks forward to the transition as well, stating that, "Horner will provide the capital to vastly expand the services and product inventory available in the Louisville and southern Indiana area."
