IMTRA Announces Exclusive Sola-Cure Distributor Partnership

Marine Manufacturer and Importer Offers High-Quality Window Treatments For Marine and Commercial Applications

New Bedford, Mass. – IMTRA, the leading manufacturer and importer of quality marine products, announced today — through its exclusive North American distributorship of Sola-Cure shades — its line of customizable, high-quality and comprehensive solutions for solar shades and blackout blinds.

Designed to reduce glare and heat from windows, and provide protection, privacy and security for a wide variety of helm and operator applications, Sola-Cure anti-glare sunscreens and window treatments are offered in three configurations: the Sola-Cure Solar Shade, Luxury Sunfilm, and Luxury Blackout Blinds. Each is offered in several colors and can be easily installed on any size or shape window including inclined or overhead windows.

Providing at least 99 percent UV protection, Sola-Cure shades eliminate reflected glare on electronics, reduce solar radiated heat and its effects on crew and guests, and reduce fading of interior materials such as wood or fabric caused by the sun.

"We are proud to sell and support the Sola-Cure line of window shades," said Alex Larsen, vice president of commercial sales, IMTRA. "The highest quality window treatments available for marine markets, Sola-Cure shades protect the interiors of boats, aid the comfort of the crews, and still allow for effective navigation – all this in a stylish package."

The high-quality Sola-Cure Solar Shade is a polymer film that acts like a traditional window shade. Designed specifically for commercial, navigation and bridge-deck windows, all Solar Shades can be fitted in vertical and horizontal positions. The self-contained system employs wire guides to keep the blind parallel to the glass, necessary for inclined windows and applications where the aluminum roller cassette is to be housed at the base of the window. The guide wires also eliminate rattle and movement due to roll and pitch. The Solar Shades include a spring-loaded roller mechanism with various locking options, depending on the particular application, allowing the blinds to be partially opened or closed and locked in place.

The Sola-Cure Luxury Sunfilm is for less critical functions where wire guides and an aluminum housing are not necessary or confined spaces dictate a lower profile. Providing the same high-quality UV protection, the Sunfilm one-way vision films are available in gold and silver.

The Sola-Cure Luxury Blackout Blinds offer 100% UV protection, are flame retardant, easy to clean and are ideal for crew spaces requiring total light elimination allowing crews to sleep comfortably in the daytime. Offered in a variety of colors, the strong blinds are durable and stylishly complement any vessel's interior décor.
