IMR Test Labs - Lansing Acquires a Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA)
IMR Test Labs is proud to announce the purchase of a Q800 Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA). The DMA allows IMR to measure the mechanical properties of non-metallic materials as a function of time, temperature, and frequency.
 Some common tests the DMA allows IMR to perform for you are glass transition temperature and secondary transition measurements (Tg), orientation determinations caused by processing, cold crystallization testing, properties of filler effects in composites, creep testing, and much more. Materials IMR can test with the DMA include composites, polymers, rubbers, fibers, films, and ceramics.
IMR can now determine the viscoelastic properties of your samples as they are deformed under a controlled stress or strain. IMR has several clamp types that can be utilized on the DMA including Dual and Single Cantilever, 3-Point Bend, and Tension (Fiber and Film) fixtures. IMR can use the DMA to test sample between a temperature range of -150 to 600 ⁰C, a force range of 0.0001 to 18 N, and a frequency range of 0.01 to 200 Hz.
