IKO Announces Packaging Changes and Product Enhancements on GoldShield Ice & Water Product

New Packaging and Product Improvements Provides Benefits for Yards, Job Sites, and Contractors

KANKAKEE, IL – IKO, a North American pioneer and global leader in the roofing materials business, has announced packaging changes to its GoldShield Ice & Water Protector to provide added user friendliness to roofers and product dealers.

The new GoldShield Ice & Water Protector packaging will be in the form of a fully enclosed, shrink wrapped film on individual rolls replacing the previous boxed roll format that was shrink wrapped by the pallet. The new film packaging is water resistant and treated for enhanced UV resistance improving the ability to store it outdoors. The packaging is also smaller in size allowing for an increased number of rolls per pallet and reducing the inventory space required for storage purposes.

According to Director of Marketing, Carol Perkins, "The new roll packaging will be beneficial for both our distributors and their customers. It means less storage space required and less waste on the job site as well.  Everybody wins."

In addition to the new wrapper, other product improvements include a stronger core for more roll stability, more slip resistance and the use of a white facer to make the product cooler to work with. These changes provide benefits to the contractor by making the product easier to work with. For those with existing stocks of GoldShield product, Carol also notes "Since there is no change to the product itself suppliers will be able to mix the new packaging and their existing supply. The products are totally compatible."
