IEWC Increases Support of Electric Vehicle and Rail/Transit Markets with HUBER+SUHNER Partnership

As the primary stocking distribution partner in North America, IEWC offers HUBER+SUHNER customers greater flexibility and access to products

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – IEWC has been named the primary distributor stocking HUBER+SUHNER high voltage cables in North America. HUBER+SUHNER, based in Switzerland, is a leading manufacturer of low frequency cables used in electric/hybrid vehicles as well as rail and transit applications. This distribution agreement further bolsters IEWC’s position as a key supplier of cable for electric, rail, and transit vehicle and accessory developers in North America and globally. This agreement will provide HUBER+SUHNER customers (particularly those with design- and smaller production-stage runs) access to a world-class stocking and value-add logistics partner that will give them more flexibility in their procurement and inventory strategies.

With shielded and unshielded offerings in single- and multi-conductor products, HUBER+SUHNER cables meet a variety of global cable standards and requirements while providing functionality for a variety of transportation vehicles and systems. HUBER+SUHNER wire and cable, available in sizes from 2.5 mm2 to 120 mm2, utilizes unique RADOX® cross-linked insulation that enables the cable to withstand temperatures up to 150ºC while carrying voltages of 1000V AC and 1500V DC, meeting the rigorous demands of high-voltage lines for both on- and off-road vehicles as well as rail and transit transport vehicles and mechanisms.

“This really is an exciting time for IEWC to be deepening our offerings and capabilities for the electric vehicle and rail/transit markets through this partnership with HUBER+SUHNER,” said Pete Henrikson, VP & GM of Americas North at IEWC. “Coupling the exceptional products from HUBER+SUHNER with our passionate customer service and capabilities makes this a great pairing ready to serve all the innovators in the EV and transit sectors.”

“HUBER+SUHNER is focused on providing connectivity solutions to customers in key markets and sustaining those relationships by being a leader in innovation and technology and operational excellence. We’re thrilled to partner with a distributor who operates with a similar mindset and has a passion for doing what’s best for mutual customers.” said Brian Jacobs, Low Frequency Director at HUBER+SUHNER.

The addition of HUBER+SUHNER’s high voltage wires and cables is the latest extension of IEWC’s continuously expanding portfolio of products and services for the growing automotive and rail/transit wire and cable markets. From primary wire constructions to electric and hybrid vehicle battery cable as well as wire management products, IEWC supplies solutions to numerous transportation equipment manufacturers and sub-assembly houses, no matter what the platform.
