Technical information

Planning information
Cable orders: Cables are required to connect the EXN2000 to an N3700, N5200, or N5500, or to connect to another EXN2000. The cables may be either copper or optical fiber. Existing features #2020 and #2022 are used when connecting the EXN2000 to the N3700 filer. Features #2043 and #2044 are used when connecting the EXN2000 to the N5x00 filers. When using feature 2020 or 2022 to connect to a clustered N3700 (2863-A20), two cable features must be ordered. Optical fiber cables also require the SFP GBIC feature (#2010). When initially ordering the EXN2000, the cable features provide two cables for each feature ordered, except for #2020 and #2021 which provide one cable per feature. For MES orders, one cable is provided per ordered feature. For the SFP GBIC feature (#2010), the feature provides one SFP GBIC on both the initial EXN2000 order and for an MES order.

SFP GBIC: This feature provides one small form factor pluggable GBIC. It is required if optical cables are ordered.

When the EXN2000 is to be connected to an N5200 or N5500, two of this feature must be ordered. For the N3700, four must be ordered.

For an MES order, the maximum number that may be ordered is 99.
