Hydro Bringing 45 New Jobs to Arizona

LINTHICUM, Md.- Hydro is bringing 45 new jobs to Arizona, where the
company is adding aluminum fabrication capabilities to its Phoenix-based extrusion and
remelting plant.

Hydro wants to improve its overall service to customers in North America, and the expansion in Phoenix is part of this work. The expansion represents the final step in its plan for the current year, in which Hydro has added aluminum fabrication activities and technical competence around the country, and extended the level of support for customers.

In Phoenix, the company has dedicated 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space to fabrication, including CNC machining and product assembly, and has doubled its number of engineers for customer and operational support. The integration of the new operations is underway and will be complete by year end.

Hydro employs over 200 people in Phoenix, handling extrusion, drawn tube and aluminum remelt activities. By the time the new operations have been brought online, the total number of employees will have grown by nearly 25 percent.

"We are creating an integrated aluminum fabrication center of excellence in Phoenix. We want to grow, and this shows that our customers appreciate the work we do for them," says Mike Stier, who leads Hydro's extrusion business in the West Region.
