Honeywell Wins Two Successive Projects at National Grid Grain LNG Ltd

Experion PKS Improves Production and Operational Efficiency While Integrated Safety System Protects Terminal and Workers

LONDON, Dec. 05, 2006 - Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announced today that it will provide National Grid Grain LNG Ltd with automation solutions for increasing efficiency and production outputs as well as enhancing performance. The two projects are valued at a collective $2.8 million with Grain LNG, a subsidiary of National Grid plc.

The first contract involved the implementation of Honeywell's Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS), and two integrated safety systems, into Grain LNG's importation terminal at the Isle of Grain, in the UK. Honeywell provided design, engineering and installation services directly to Grain LNG for the project, as well as ongoing customer support. As part of the second contract, Honeywell will provide an integrated process control and safety system for the expansion project at Grain LNG's importation terminal near London. The second project was awarded via contracting engineer, CB&I John Brown (London) Ltd.

"For the initial project, Grain LNG required support from a world-class vendor to help us meet a very demanding schedule," said Paul Johnson, Projects Manager at Grain LNG. "We also needed an automation partner that we could rely on for the next 30 years. Honeywell has proved it can deliver high quality, reliable solutions, as well as consistent after sales service to meet our stringent standards for safety and performance."

Experion PKS will be able to view plant-wide operations from a single control room and automatically generate critical reporting such as daily gas send-out, and gas reconciliation data. Critically, Experion PKS is fully integrated with safety enabling the operator to manoeuvre and safely manage the plant and its people, whilst maintaining the security of an independent environment from the mainline control system.

"LNG terminals are manned on a 24-hour basis by control room operators and it is imperative that Grain LNG has a robust process control and safety system, like Experion PKS, at the heart of the operation," said Paul Orzeske, vice president and general manager of Honeywell Process Solutions EMEA. "Using Honeywell's Experion PKS alongside integrated safety management solutions, Grain LNG can lower the cost of safety and improve plant performance by reducing the risk of safety incidents and maximizing production up-time."
