Honeywell's New HTF7250G Turbofan Engine Family to Power New Gulfstream G250 Business Jet
Value of Contract Could Exceed $4 Billion
New Green Technology Introduced in the HTF7000 Family is Included in Honeywell's HTF7250G
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 6 / / - NBAA - Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that its HTF7250G, the newest member of the HTF7000 family of engines will power the NEW Gulfstream G250 business jet.
Honeywell estimates the potential value of this agreement at more than $4 billion over the life of the program.
The HTF7000, introduced in 2003, has more than 450,000 hours on the fleet and more than 400 engines in service. The engine is the benchmark of performance and reliability in the 7,000 pound thrust class, with no in flight shutdowns after nearly five years in service.

Honeywell will provide a full HTF7250G propulsion system that includes the engine, nacelle, fire suppression capability and thrust reverser.
Powered by two HTF7250 engines, each delivering 7,445 pounds of thrust, the G250 is capable of traveling 3,400 nautical miles at 0.80 Mach and has a maximum operating speed of 0.85 Mach. These fuel-efficient engines feature reduced emissions and noise signatures while delivering longer maintenance intervals. The engines will power the G250 to FL410 in less than 20 minutes.
At maximum takeoff weight, the G250 will be able to take off from a 5,000-foot runway and be capable of delivering its passengers a full 3,400-nautical-miles, or as an example, flying nonstop from New York to London or from London to Dubai.
Honeywell will also provide its proven 36-150 auxiliary power unit (APU) that will generate pneumatic and electric power on the ground or in flight for the G250. There are more than 7,500 36-150 APUs in service across a wide variety of business jet applications around the world.
The company will also provide the Environmental and Cabin Pressure Control Systems and aircraft lighting. Honeywell will also supply its Select Attitude and Heading Reference System (SAHRS). SAHRS provides heading and attitude data (the aircraft's position relative to the earth's horizon) used by the display system in the cockpit, the Autopilot and the Flight Management System. Additionally, Honeywell will provide its Terrain Awareness and Warning System capability that will be integrated into the aircraft's avionics.
The HTF7000 propulsion system received FAA certification and JAA validation in June 2002. At entry into service, the propulsion system had already completed more than 30,000 hours of development and certification testing, 50,000 hours of control system testing and 4,000 thrust reverser cycles.
Designed for either on condition or scheduled service intervals, the HTF7250 requires only 13 common hand tools for normal line maintenance.
