Holz Rubber Company Achieves No Lost-Time Injuries for One Year


Think Safety, Act Safely, All Day, Every Day Safety Awareness Program Results In Key Milestone

Lodi, CA - November 1, 2005 - Holz Rubber Company, a leading manufacturer of industrial elastomeric products, has announced that its workforce of 105 employees has worked more than 220,000 safe hours from September 29, 2004 to present with no lost-time injuries. Lost-time injuries are employees taking leave of absence from work due to on-the-job injuries.

"Achieving this key milestone is a direct result of all of our employees and supervisors working together to embrace a culture of
safety that is based on the simple premise that all injuries can be prevented, " stated David Smith, VP and COO of Holz Rubber Company. "More importantly, making safety a priority has resulted in our people working smarter and staying healthier," he

With no lost-time accidents, Holz Rubber Company is able to maintain better ratings for Worker's Compensation Insurance and continue a good reporting record with California OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Holz continues to stress safety through an on-going safety program consisting of education, visibility and incentives designed to create a risk free environment.

To mark the safety milestone, Holz recently held a celebration picnic where each employee was awarded a wristwatch in recognition of achieving no lost-time injuries for one year.
