Hobart to Attend FABTECH 2014, Demonstrate Filler Metals to Improve Productivity and Quality
TROY, Ohio –Â Hobart will be attending FABTECH 2014 in Atlanta, November 11 to 13, showcasing its filler metals designed to improve quality and productivity in fabrication and manufacturing welding applications. In addition to live welding demos at the Hobart booth (C2934), welding specialists will be available to answer questions and provide product advice to visitors. Filler metals of interest at the show include:
• Hobart® MEGAFIL® seamless wires: Available in flux-cored and metal-cored varieties, these wires feature a unique seamless design that resists moisture pickup to reduce the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking. MEGAFIL wires also have a copper coating to improve wire feeding and provide optimal current transfer for the highest quality welds. They are ideal for field fabrication applications where climates can be challenging.
• Hobart Element™ low manganese wires: These gas-shielded flux-cored wires feature the lowest manganese levels of any similarly classified filler metal in the marketplace and are designed to help companies maintain compliance with environmental regulations. Ideal for high volume manufacturing and welding in confined areas, Element filler metals also offer robust mechanical and chemical properties for high performance welding.
• Hobart MaxalMig 4943 aluminum filler metals: Hobart MaxalMig solid wires and Hobart MaxalTig cut lengths are formulated for applications with the same weld procedure specifications as 4043 and 4643 products but do not depend on base metal dilution to increase weld strength. These filler metals also feature low welding smut and discoloration, provide excellent corrosion resistance and offer low cracking sensitivity in most applications.
