Jul 12, 2012 - NEMA's shipment index for halogen A-line lamps shows acceleration in growth during Q1 2012, improving 110% on year over year (y/y) basis. This increase was preceded by gains of 90% and 98% during Q3 and Q4 2011, respectively. Conversely, respective Q1 2012 declines for incandescent lamps and CFLs were measured at 0.3% and 1% y/y. Halogen A-line lamps garnered 2.8% share, double same period from last year, while incandescent lamps and CFLs respectively registered shares of 76.3% and 20.9%.

Growth in Halogen A-Line Lamp Index Accelerates During First Quarter

Halogen A-line lamps garnered a share of 2.8 percent, double their share during the same period last year. Incandescent lamps maintained their grip on the market, registering a share of 76.3 despite a decrease of 1 percentage point. Demand for CFLs waned slightly compared to a year ago resulting in a decline of 0.4 percentage points to a share of 20.9 percent.
