Ground-Breaking Ceremony for New Steel Drum Plant in Singapore

MAUSER Group, a worldwide leading company in industrial packaging, started the construction works at its new steel drum plant in Singapore with a ground-breaking ceremony. The new site enables MAUSER to triple its steel drum production in this area and to further expand growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

The new MAUSER site is designed to substitute MAUSER's existing line in Benoi Road, Singapore, and enables the company to introduce a leaner and more automated production. Whilst manufacturing uncoated drums at the company's present site, the new plant in Tuas South Avenue 2 will offer state-of-the-art product lines for plain drums, inside-coated drums as well as open-top drums. Already announced in the end of 2010, MAUSER now started the construction works with a ground-breaking ceremony. The opening is planned for summer 2012.

"Building the new plant allows us to triple MAUSER's capacity of steel drum production in Singapore," said Stefan Wiedenhöfer, General Manager of MAUSER Singapore Pte Ltd. "Therewith, we are able to meet the special market requirements in this region." Especially from the petrochemical and specialty chemical industries, MAUSER experiences a high demand for high-quality steel drum packaging solutions.
