Graybar Delivery Advantage Program to Help Customers Better Manage Incoming Material

New Graybar service provides details on deliveries - saves time and money

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 14 /-- Graybar, a leading distributor of electrical and communications products and related supply chain management and logistics services, launched Graybar Delivery Advantage, a mobile resource management system that tracks and documents deliveries made by Graybar drivers.

Developed with customer input, this real-time solution helps customers better manage their incoming materials, saving them time and money. The Graybar Delivery Advantage provides valuable details on incoming deliveries made by Graybar drivers, including:

-- Delivery date and time
-- Electronic image of customer's signature for proof of delivery
-- Electronic image of delivery
-- Aerial map of delivery location

"The Graybar Delivery Advantage allows us to streamline our drivers' time and their routes, resulting in more deliveries per route," said Dennis Grousosky, Graybar vice president - service. "We're always working to our customers' advantage by creating improved efficiencies with these types of new services."

The Graybar Delivery Advantage was recently recognized as part of the InformationWeek 500 award in the "20 Great Ideas" section for Graybar's innovative use of cell phones to optimize supply chain performance.

Graybar drivers gather the delivery information using their Sprint/Nextel mobile phones enabled with Xora GPS TimeTrack service. Once the service captures the delivery information, it is available immediately to Graybar Customer Service. Graybar customers can contact their customer service representative to request the detailed information per delivery.

"We are constantly evaluating ways to use technology to improve our productivity," said Grousosky. "We continuously use technology to optimize our business processes and deliver more value to our customers, suppliers and shareholders."
