Grand Opening of Firth Rixson Aerospace Components Kicks Off Production


EAST HARTFORD, Conn., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Firth Rixson Limited today announced that it will hold a Grand Opening at its new ring manufacturing facility, Firth Rixson Aerospace Components (Suzhou) Company, Ltd., located in Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province, China. The ceremony marks commencement of production of seamless rolled rings for the global marketplace. "We will hold a traditional Chinese-style event for customers, suppliers, regional government officials and industrial park executives on November 4, 2005. This is a great day for our company and members of our UK and US executive staff will be on hand to celebrate the official opening of our newest plant," says Jeff Yaker, the company's VP of Sales and Marketing.

Guests will have an opportunity to observe the production process in the modern, 50,000-square-foot facility that will be used to manufacture rings for aero engines, land-based gas turbines and other industrial applications. "Our plant has been equipped with the latest generation of computerized, ring-rolling machinery and heat-treatment furnaces. This enables Firth Rixson to offer Asian customers a product that meets world-class standards, within a regional supply chain. Now global OEMs can take advantage of offsets by utilizing Firth Rixson's local content," says Bill Cotton, the Suzhou facility's general manager.
