Goodhart Sons Inc. Completes Spray Dryer Expansion Project
Goodhart Sons, Inc., a steel fabricator and installer in Lancaster, PA was contracted by an equipment supply company to perform the fabrication, freight and installation of a structural steel tower for a 40 foot diameter spray dryer and auxiliary equipment.
The project consisted of the fabrication and installation of approximately 410,000 lbs. of steelwork. While they are no stranger to working on large structural steel projects, this was the first major project of this magnitude to use their beam drilling line that was installed in December of 2011.
The scope of work also involved the installation of all of the auxiliary equipment for the spray dryer such as cyclones, ductwork, fans etc. A span of 8 months separated the start of fabrication and the completion of the installation.
