GM Appointed to Head NSF's Dietary Supplements & Athletic Banned Substances Certification Programs
Ann Arbor, MI - NSF International today announced that Edward Wyszumiala has been appointed general manager of NSF's Dietary Supplements, Functional Foods and Athletic Banned Substances Certification programs. The new appointment comes at a crucial time as recent media articles on steroids reinforce the need for increased testing and certification of supplements and nutritional products.
Leveraging his years of experience in the dietary supplements and nutraceuticals industry, Wyszumiala will oversee all of NSF's Dietary Supplements programs. This includes playing a key role in the overall expansion of NSF's Athletic Banned Substances program, a program recommended by Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, to minimize the risk that a dietary supplement or sports nutrition product contains banned substances.
Most recently, Wyszumiala served as the Account Manager for NSF's Dietary Supplement programs, where he led the development and implementation of integrated sales strategies and certification initiatives to meet clients' increasing needs. He also managed quality assurance policies for NSF's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) program.
Prior to his appointment at NSF, Wyszumiala was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Graminex, a leading manufacturer of botanical products. As COO, he was in charge of Graminex's international pharmaceutical and nutraceutical operations and the expansion of these services into new markets including South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.
