Agreement provides Glacier customers with leading, ruggedized computer platform

Glacier Computer today announced it will offer the Panasonic Toughbook®-family of rugged, semi-rugged and business rugged computers to its diverse customer base. Glacier Computer is a member of the Panasonic Toughbook Premier Partner Program (TP3). The TP3 partner designation is reserved for resellers who meet specific sales and customer support commitments for Toughbook mobile computers. In addition to being able to sell business-rugged and semi-rugged Toughbook solutions, TP3 partners are exclusively approved to sell Panasonic Toughbook fully rugged mobile computers.

"Panasonic Computers will be a perfect complement to our existing rugged platforms of vehicle mount, wearable, and handheld terminals. This variety of hardware will allow Glacier the freedom to develop more solutions for our core markets of warehouse, medical, field service and military," said Ron D'Ambrosio, CEO, Glacier Computer. "We are pleased to resell the Toughbook computer product line because it provides an exceptional platform to offer our customers; one that is backed by actual performance in the field and an exceptional suite of services."

"Toughbook mobile computers are designed to work in the most demanding environments," said, Ed McCabe, National Sales Manager, Supply Chain Logistics, Panasonic Computer Solutions Company. "Rugged mobile solutions like the Toughbook U1 and Toughbook H1 enable companies to provide mobile workers with the real-time data they need to drive greater levels of productivity, regardless of the operating environment."
About the Toughbook U1

The fully-rugged Panasonic Toughbook U1 allows remote workers to connect to critical information and applications in real time, improving organizational efficiency, increasing information accuracy, and enabling field-based decision-making. The Toughbook U1 can integrate a robust set of features previously unavailable in handheld devices, including: 3G mobile broadband, GPS, 1D and 2D barcode and RFID readers, a 2-megapixel digital camera, a daylight viewable screen and twin, hot-swappable batteries offering up to nine hours of life. Unlike most handhelds, the U1 operates on the full-function Windows® XP and Windows Vista® operating systems, giving users unprecedented remote access to feature-rich software applications in the field. The device's fan-less all-weather design also reduces noise, weight and points of failure and its magnesium alloy chassis delivers protection from bumps and drops of up to 4 feet.

About the Toughbook H1

The fully-rugged Toughbook H1 was developed based on Panasonic's innovative engineering, resulting from its own proprietary global healthcare industry research and Intel's mobile clinical assistant (MCA) reference design. With integrated RFID reader, 2.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with dual LED lights, a barcode reader, contactless smart card reader and fingerprint readers, the Toughbook H1 is a secure and intuitive platform for barcodemedication administration (BCMA), vitals capture and electronic medical records (EMR) capture and review. The Toughbook H1 offers a category-leading six hours of battery life, complemented by dual hot-swappable batteries, allowing non-stop computing while on the move. This virtually eliminates down time, maximizing return on investment. The Toughbook H1 has been designed for easy disinfection, reducing the risk of germs being spread from patient to patient. To meet the needs for mobility in both facilities and in-home health environments, the H1 offers a range of embedded wireless options. The device also comes with optional, next generation GPS technology...
