Gilbane Building Company Breaks Ground on Two Schools for Maercker School District 60
Additions and renovations for two district schools are underway
CHICAGO (PRWEB) OCTOBER 25, 2018 - Officials from Maercker School District 60 and Gilbane Building Company recently came together to celebrate the official groundbreaking for two school projects that will transform the educational environment for future generations to come.
As construction manager for this exciting project, Gilbane will lead the additions and renovations at two district schools. Scope of work will include a 29,000 SF, two-story addition and 12,000 SF of renovations at Holmes Primary School for additional classrooms to implement full-day kindergarten, expand early childhood programming and provide spaces for specialized services (OT, PT, special education and interventions). The project will also include a 10,000 SF addition and 78,000 SF of renovations at Westview Hills Middle School for new science labs, art renovation and expansion, STEM education, culinary arts spaces, band spaces, mixed-use cafetorium expansion and associated site work.
