Gift of Giving: DSTI Employees Spearhead Donation Drives

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - January 22, 2019 - DSTI continues its tradition of giving back by spearheading a Thanksgiving meal drive and toy drive benefiting families experiencing financial hardship this past holiday season.

In November, employees donated food and money in support of providing Thanksgiving meals for over 50 families identified by the North Anoka County Emergency (NACE) food shelf.

"Thank you for your incredible support to the food shelf," said NACE Executive Director Annabelle Budde.

With a goal donating 35 complete meals, employees surprised NACE food shelf with enough donations to support over 50 families on Thanksgiving Day. Employees also purchased an additional 25 hams, 25 turkeys and over $500 in gift cards for NACE to use on families during the holiday season.

"Your willingness to help those in need is greatly appreciated and the extra thought and detail you give your donations is amazing," added Budde.

In addition to the food drive, hundreds of local children woke up Christmas morning with a new toy under the tree.

Over the course of just two weekends, employees donated toys and spent their free time collecting more than 1,500 new toys from community members in support of the annual U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive.
