George Melton Named Wyle Chairman

El SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 30 - The Board of Directors of Wyle today announced the election of George Melton as chairman, in addition to his roles as chief executive officer and president. Melton joined Wyle in 2005 to lead the strategic growth of the company.

Melton replaces Gus Yiakas as chairman, who has retired from Wyle after 39 years with the company.

Melton is leading the company during a period when the focus is on building the company's infrastructure to support the expansion of the company through winning new programs and successfully acquiring and integrating carefully targeted add-on acquisitions. He helped lead initiatives that included new investments in business development, streamlining of the company's financial operations, increasing and updating the company's information technology systems, and launching a national branding campaign.

"George's leadership and substantial experience in this industry has helped to usher in a new era of growth and expedited the transformation of Wyle since our initial investment," said Edmund J. Feeley, a member of the Board of Wyle and a managing director of Littlejohn & Co, a private investment firm which acquired Wyle in 2003. "We believe the company can continue to leverage many growth opportunities and we look forward to George's continued leadership."

Wyle currently has annual revenues of more than $500 million and 2,800 employees working at three dozen primary facilities across the country. Company revenues have grown more than 30 per cent during Melton's tenure. The company's customers include the U.S. Navy, Air Force, NASA and leading aerospace companies.

Melton joined Wyle from URS Corporation, where he served as CEO and president of the EG&G division. He was responsible for leading the premier technical services company with approximately $1 billion in revenue. He joined EG&G in 2000 and during his tenure helped to significantly increase sales and profits.

Wyle, a privately held company, is a leader in providing high tech aerospace engineering, testing and research services to commercial, industrial and government customers. The company also provides life sciences services, special test systems and other technical support services to the aerospace, defense, nuclear power, communications and transportation industries.
