GE's Silicones Business Increases Customer Reach: Names Tri-iso as West Coast Sales Agent for Additives for the Polyurethane Foam Industry


WILTON, CONN. - Dec. 20, 2005 - At GE's Advanced Materials business, Silicones today announced the appointment of Tri-iso, Inc. of Claremont, Calif., as a West Coast sales agent for polyurethane foam additives. Representing Silicones, Tri-iso provides customers a local resource for expertise supporting GE's portfolio of products, including Niax* silicone surfactants and catalysts, and Geolite* modifiers and tin catalysts. Tri-iso will cover Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

According to Tony Lanchak, who is global business leader, urethane additives for GE - Silicones, "The growing polyurethane foam industry is an important area for GE. Tri-iso's technical expertise in polyurethane chemistry will be a valuable and convenient resource for customers who are looking for support in their selection of polyurethane foam additives. Tri-iso is well established in the industry. They will be instrumental in educating West Coast customers about the capabilities of GE's products through technical seminars and other services. A specialty chemical distributor established in the 1970s, Tri-iso focuses on formulators of polyurethane and polyurea chemistries. Tri-iso's sales staff has degrees in chemistry or chemical engineering, and most have experience in laboratory formulating. The company is a member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors.

GE's newest Niax and Geolite products help to reduce fogging emissions from foam. Tri-iso will also represent organo-tin catalysts for foam processes.
