GE Adding Varitech Cooling Towers to Its Portfolio of Rental Products


ATLANTA, GEORGIA - June 22, 2006 - GE Energy has signed a three-year sourcing agreement with Varitech Equipment Company, a leading supplier of cooling tower systems. Under the agreement, GE Energy's rentals business will be able to exclusively offer Varitech's full range of cooling tower equipment and services to North American customers for utility, industrial, and commercial applications.

Based in Cedartown, Georgia, Varitech is a full service, temporary cooling equipment provider, specializing in large applications. The company's cooling tower units range in size from 300 to 3,000 tons, with the capability to process cooling water up to one million gallons per minute.

GE Energy's rentals business and Varitech have already provided numerous solutions to customers across North America, some as large as 36,000 tons of cooling capacity.
GE Energy formed its rentals business to offer rental equipment for temporary distributed power and climate control applications in the commercial, industrial, utility, oil and gas and special events industries. The business has a broad portfolio of rental products including the 22.8-megawatt TM2500 portable power plant, natural gas-fired generators, diesel generators ranging up to 2.8 megawatts, air conditioners as large as 80 tons, water chillers up to 1,000 tons and now, cooling towers up to 3,000 tons.
