Gateway Lands Notebook PC Contract With the State of Tennessee

Contract Allows County Governments, Educational Institutions and Other
Not-For-Profit State-Run Organizations to Purchase Gateway Notebooks

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway, the nation's
third-largest PC company has added Tennessee to the growing number of states
purchasing Gateway's products. The state selected Gateway as a business class
notebooks and convertible notebook provider under the Notebook State Wide
Contract.

The contract provides preferred pricing on Gateway's E-Series professional
line of notebook products including the lightweight M250, performance-oriented
M460 and the award-winning M280 convertible notebook. Beginning immediately,
state agencies, local governments, educational institutions and other
not-for-profit state run organizations can purchase Gateway notebooks under
the contract. The award was given after an open competition resulting in a
3-year agreement with an optional 1-year extension. The actual value of the
contract depends on purchasing decisions by individual agencies and
organizations, but is estimated at approximately $6.4 million.

"Statewide agencies are recognizing the benefit of working with technology
providers that can provide them with value-oriented, powerful technology
solutions that keep them well within budget but ultimately assist with
productivity," said Vin Riera, vice president of government sales, Gateway.
"Gateway is focused on meeting customers' needs and providing them with the
product, services and solutions they need to concentrate on what matters
most -- the business of the state and its residents."
