SAN JOSE, Calif., 2006 FSA Suppliers Expo, Oct. 10 // -- Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA), a leader in advanced technology, will feature its 65-nanometer process technology at the 2006 Fabless Semiconductor Association Suppliers Expo and Conference in San Jose, October 11. Fujitsu will be at booth 410.

By the end of this year, Fujitsu will be in production with several high-performance and low-leak designs based on the 65nm technology, which is available in its CS200HP and CS200A series. Fujitsu's 65nm process technology is part of its complete turnkey program for COT and ASIC customers, which includes wafer processing, mask design, design verification support, and assembly and test services. The company also offers a large portfolio of IP that provides high-speed I/O for advanced networking, communications, storage and mobile applications.

"Fujitsu's 65nm technology maximizes performance and minimizes power consumption in advanced designs," said Jason So, senior director for ASIC and COT Business Group at Fujitsu Microelectronics America. "The CS200HP and CS200A series represent state-of-the-art technology for performance-oriented applications and low-power requirements for mobile products. It is an important part of our Integrated Device Manufacturing model, which provides our customers with a set of services based on their specific application and needs."

About the CS200HP and CS200A Series

The CS200HP series is designed for high-end, high-performance server CPU devices and other advanced systems. Applications for the CS200A series include mobile products such as cellular phones and other digital consumer products that need minimum standby-power consumption. These two series offer maximum performance with minimum power consumption, and cell size reductions of 50 percent compared with the 90nm technology.

A major breakthrough in the new 65nm technology is size. Gate lengths of the CS200HP transistors are only 30 nanometers long, a 30 percent performance improvement compared to the Fujitsu 90nm CS100HP series.

The FSA Conference, now in its 12th year, runs in tandem with the Suppliers Expo to highlight today's most relevant process technology topics.
