Franceen Gonzales Elected to Three-Year Term on the ASTM International Board of Directors



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Franceen Gonzales, vice president, waterpark business development, WhiteWater West Industries Ltd., has been elected to serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.



A member of ASTM International since 2001, Gonzales serves on Committees D22 on Air Quality,F15 on Consumer Products and F24 on Amusement Rides and Devices. She is currently recording secretary for the main F24 committee and secretary of the F24 executive subcommittee. She was chairman of Subcommittee F24.70 on Water-Related Amusement Rides and Devices from 2006 to 2009.



Gonzales has more than 25 years of experience in waterpark operations, safety and risk management. She assumed her current role in 2013 and prior to that served as vice president of risk management and waterparks at Great Wolf Resorts, Madison, Wis., where she oversaw safety and risk management as well as waterpark operations and maintenance for the company’s 12 indoor/outdoor waterpark resorts in North America. She has also held top management roles at Six Flags Great Adventure, Golfland Entertainment Centers Inc., Waterworld Safari and Wet ’N’ Wild Waterworld.



In addition to her work in ASTM, Gonzales is a member of the board of directors of WhiteWater West Industries and the Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers, which has honored her with its John Allen Safety Award. She is also a member and secretary of the board of the National Swimming Pool Foundation.



Gonzales is a former chairman of the board and former board member of the World Waterpark Association, which has twice named her winner of the Kelly Ogle Memorial Safety Award. A member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Safety Committee, she has been an IAAPA board member, chairman of the IAAPA Membership Committee, and a member of the IAAPA governance and strategic planning committees.



A regular speaker at industry events, Gonzales has also written several articles related to her work. Aquatics International Magazine named her to the “Power 25” list in 2011 and 2012. Gonzales holds a B.S. in biological sciences from Stanford University.
