Four Companies Honored with AK Steel's Supplier of the Year Awards

West Chester, OH, November 16, 2007 - AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) today presented its "Supplier of the Year" award to four companies for outstanding service, value and strategic support of the steelmaker's business plan. The awards were presented by James L. Wainscott, AK Steel's chairman, president and CEO, during the company's fourth annual Key Supplier Meeting held in West Chester. Companies receiving AK Steel's Supplier of the Year awards were:
o Coyne Textile Services, Syracuse, NY (employee uniform services)
o Glencore Ltd., Stamford, CT (ferrochrome alloys)
o MPW Industrial Services, Hebron, OH (mobile equipment operation, grounds and other maintenance services)
o Vesuvius USA, Pittsburgh, PA (steelmaking ladle components)
"Our award recipients provided exceptional value to AK Steel this year," said Mr. Wainscott. "Each of them found innovative ways to supply us with quality products and services, delivered at significant cost savings to our company."
During his keynote address at the meeting, Mr. Wainscott stressed the importance of the steelmaker and its suppliers working together to help maintain the momentum of AK Steel's growth.
The meeting was attended by representatives of AK Steel's top 100 suppliers, based on the dollar value of the commodities and services provided. The suppliers collectively represented more than $3 billion in goods and services purchased annually by AK Steel.
AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
