Fountain Industries Acquires Compactor Manufacturer

Fountain Industries (www.fountainindustries.com) is pleased to announce that it has acquired the assets of Eagan, MN-based Multitech (www.maxpak.net), a manufacturer of small commercial, institutional and industrial refuse compacting equipment that markets under the MaxPak brand. All operations have been consolidated at Fountain's Albert Lea, MN headquarters. Founded in 1966, Fountain is the largest manufacturer of private label parts cleaning equipment and also markets under their own R&D brand.

"We have been focusing on developing cost effective and socially responsible products for the institutional, industrial and commercial marketplaces," noted Fountain President Mark Olchefske. "Waste minimization makes sense both economically and ecologically. Haulers and landfills charge by volume, not weight. Compaction condenses the same amount of trash into a smaller block, so the customer only pays disposal fees for the waste, not the air. Companies save money by using smaller dumpsters, having fewer pickups or both. It is also safer. Employees handle a mechanically compacted cube so there is less risk of injury from sharp objects in the trash. Plus, they are making fewer trips, reducing non-productive labor costs. Aesthetically, there are fewer problems with loose trash blowing around a building or parking lot and compaction helps minimize unpleasant odors. You will find our product in schools, hospitals, all types of restaurants, retirement centers, manufacturing companies, casinos, even on board ships."
