Fieldbus Foundation 2009 General Assembly to be Held in Yokohama, Japan

Leading fieldbus suppliers and end users to participate in key industry event

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 15, 2008 -- The Fieldbus Foundation today announced that its 2009 General Assembly will be held in Yokohama, Japan, on March 4-5. Planned for the Pan Pacific Hotel, the annual event is open to Fieldbus Foundation members and non-members, and will be attended by leading FOUNDATION(tm) fieldbus suppliers, end users and other industry participants from around the world.

The General Assembly offers an overview of Fieldbus Foundation developments across the globe. The event will include presentations by fieldbus technology experts focused on process integrity, open scalable integration, and business intelligence. It will also feature presentations by major end users who have installed FOUNDATION fieldbus in their industrial operations.

"End users are at the core of our organization," said Rich Timoney, Fieldbus Foundation president and CEO, "and their support of FOUNDATION technology has been at the heart of its phenomenal growth. The exchange of fieldbus application experiences through their participation is important for the General Assembly, and to the foundation overall. We strongly encourage all end users of FOUNDATION technology, and those looking to become users, to actively participate in this annual event."

End users interested in delivering a presentation at the General Assembly are asked to send an abstract to Fieldbus Foundation Marketing Manager Bill Tatum (bill.tatum@fieldbus.org) by January 15th, 2009. A committee will review the abstracts, and if selected, presentations in PowerPoint format will need to be submitted by February 13, 2009, in order to be included in the event materials.
