Second Visit to Atlanta Sees Increase in Attendees, Exhibit Space
DEARBORN, Mich., - The 2010 FABTECH exposition and conference proved to be a real show-stopper based on attendance figures and feedback from attendees and exhibitors at the just-concluded event. Some 22,000 visitors attended the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta Nov. 2-4 to experience the latest manufacturing innovations and discuss industry issues - an increase of 12% percent from the 2006 Atlanta show. The annual event is the largest tradeshow in North America dedicated to showcasing a full spectrum of metal forming, fabricating, welding, stamping, tube and pipe, and finishing equipment and technology.
Filling nearly 371,000 square feet of booth space, the three-day show included 1,138 exhibitors, an increase of 23% percent from the first show in Atlanta. The event also featured the unveiling of more than 500 new products.
"We are quite pleased with the show's positive attendance figures; the manufacturing industry is alive and well," said John Catalano, FABTECH show co-manager. "Attendees told us there is no better place to see the latest innovations, products, and equipment demonstrations, to talk shop with suppliers and to build relationships with exhibitors who can help them make wise business decisions and achieve better results.

"As an exhibitor, I was equally pleased. We got more qualified leads out of this show than all the other shows combined that we've participated in during the last three years."
The energy was positive throughout the event. Thousands of buyers from welders and shop managers to CEO's and engineers packed the show halls, serious about doing business. "It was a great show! I saw a lot of people interested in purchasing equipment," said Andree (Andy) Begneaud, Begneaud Manufacturing. "Everybody's positive about the future and things look and feel a lot better than they did a year ago."
"Attending FABTECH was well worth my time because of the industry information gained that I could bring back to fellow co-workers," noted first-time attendee Russell Bingham. "I now know this is the one place I need to go if I want to find the latest technology to help improve processes, reduce costs and stay competitive.
