Extend the Shelf Life of Fresh Ground Beef and Other Proteins - Multisorb to Showcase Solutions at IPPE

Buffalo, New York – Multisorb Technologies is pleased to announce it will once again be will be exhibiting at the International Production Processing (IPPE) Expo in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center, January 27-29, 2015. Co-sponsored by the U.S. Poultry Egg Association, American Feed Industry Association, and American Meat Institute (AMI), IPPE is the world's largest annual poultry, meat, and feed industry event.

Multisorb will be showcasing its premier technology for fresh ground beef packaging, the MAPLOX® program. The MAPLOX program is the leading low-oxygen, case-ready program in use today. The program has revolutionized the case-ready industry by extending shelf-life well beyond that of high-oxygen programs. FreshPax CR oxygen absorbers are the key component of the program. When placed in a sealed gas-flushed master bag, oxygen is eliminated and shelf life is extended.

By working with the packer or processor, Multisorb focuses on the entire package including the packaging material and the cut of protein in the package, whether it be ground beef or another cut. This provides for the most optimized solution available. Third party validation has proven the effectiveness of the MAPLOX program. With the MAPLOX program, the color, flavor, and quality of the ground beef is maintained as shelf life is extended.

Processors and retailers alike will see many benefits when using the MAPLOX program for ground beef and other fresh proteins. Centralized packaging, expanded distribution reach, product consistency, inventory control, and more efficient meat category management are just a few of the benefits realized.

In addition to the MAPLOX program, Multisorb technical staff will be available to discuss technologies for extending the shelf life of processed meats. These technologies include FreshPax® oxygen absorbing packets and FreshMax® self-adhesive oxygen absorbers. Having multiple formats available allows processed meat packagers to find the perfect solution for their packaging needs.
