Expanded Eriez 5-Star Service Center Repairs and Upgrades Wet Drum Separators to Maintain Magnetic Strength
Erie, PA - Eriez’ 5-Star Service® Center, recently re-located to the company’s new 114,000 square foot Wager Road facility in Erie, PA, expertly restores older Wet Drum Separators to their previous magnetic strength. The Eriez® 5-Star Service Center is staffed with trained service technicians to handle even the toughest service projects.
There are two distinct applications for Wet Drum Magnetic Separators: recovery of magnetite or ferrosilicon in a heavy media process, and the concentration and recovery of magnetite from iron ore. Over time in use in harsh industrial environments, Wet Drum Separators can lose their magnetic efficiency. However, with proper maintenance, they can be restored to as-new performance.
The Eriez 5-Star comprehensive maintenance program for Wet Drum Separators includes:
• Inspection of shell, hubs, bearings and shaft end
• Removal of hubs to inspect the magnetic element for damage
• Upgrading of magnetic element and replacement of shell, if necessary
• Testing the Wet Drum Separator and shipping it back to the customer
