NREL Executive Energy Leadership Program Call for Applications

Applications are currently being accepted for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) 2011 Executive Energy Leadership Program (Energy Execs). The program educates public- and private-sector decision-makers through a non-technical approach about clean energy options for their organizations.

Participants are offered an in-depth look at renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and applications. Briefings by NREL technology experts, research laboratory tours, and visits to field applications are part of the classroom experience.

"The NREL Executive Energy Leadership Program offers the unique opportunity for business, community, and government leaders to gain access to NREL's important work and embrace the acceleration of clean energy technologies in the marketplace," NREL Director Dan Arvizu said.

Participants are required to undertake a project and present it to the class. The 2011 program will be held during five two-day sessions from May through September at NREL's Golden, Colorado, campus.

Representatives from 80 industry, government, and non-profit organizations have successfully completed the course. Twenty applicants typically are selected for Energy Execs; students are selected from a national pool of candidates.

Apply online at the 2011 Call for Applications or via fax or mail. The application deadline is March 21, 2011.
