ETS-Lindgren Hosts AMTA 2006 Symposium

Austin - November 1, 2006 - ETS-Lindgren announces the successful conclusion of the 28th Annual Meeting and Symposium of the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA) held October 22-27 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel.

ETS-Lindgren provided the manpower to organize and manage the symposium which was attended by some 500 antenna professionals from the US and countries around the world, including Europe, India, and China. The symposium featured a full week of technical activity, commencing with a full day course on wireless technology, four days of technical presentations, and a technical tour on the final day of ETS-Lindgren's facility in nearby Cedar Park, Texas.

AMTA President Larry Mandeville of Raytheon commented, "Each year this organization holds an annual meeting and symposium in a different city of the United States. This year's symposium in Austin was one of our most successful due to the talent and dedication expended by the personnel of our host company, ETS-Lindgren." He added, "Our members also contributed with excellent technical papers on antenna and radar-cross section measurements, antenna/compact range and chamber design, electromagnetic material design and measurement, and of course, test and evaluation equipment. The diverse social program not only showcased highlights of Texas, but also provided invaluable networking opportunities for the symposium attendees. The AMTA symposium is the only gathering of its kind where you'll find the world's experts who are primarily concerned with antenna measurement techniques" AMTA members represent academia, industry, and government agencies working in the communications, wireless, radar and satellite areas.

Bruce Butler, President of ETS-Lindgren, noted, "We were pleased to host this years AMTA Symposium. While our team worked hard planning this event, the effort was well spent! Our engineers were able to be actively involved in the technical program, whether giving or attending presentations, our sales staff could interface with the attendees and learn about the unique needs of this industry, and our facility personnel were proud to show our 50m x 80m open area test site, A2LA accredited lab, CTIA Test Lab (CATL), and demonstrate antenna pattern measurements in our on-site chambers as part of the technical tour. We hope AMTA will come back to Texas in the future!"
