ETL Systems to Showcase Full Range of RF over Fibre Products at CABSAT 2015

Popular range has already been well-received in Middle East region with major broadcaster and telecom service provider placing significant orders

Leading British-based global designer and manufacturer of RF distribution equipment ETL Systems will attend CABSAT 2015 to showcase the latest in RF over fibre products - some of which are already being used by Middle East broadcasters and telecoms service providers.

ETL, which is renowned for its bespoke solutions, has more than 25 years experience in the RF satellite signal distribution sector, with all products designed and manufactured by its award winning RD team in the UK.

Its latest projects in the Middle East, which ETL will be available to talk about at CABSAT include:

• ETL’s RF over Fibre product StingRay, which has been ordered by a Middle East broadcaster and telecoms service provider

• ETL’s has delivered 30 Vulcan matrix units since its release, with one deployment for a contract won with a major broadcaster in the Middle East

• ETL’s variable gain Alto amplifiers have been supplied to Etisalat and ND Satcom for the Al Jazeera Network solution provided by Media Group International

ETL’s Mather Al-Ali will be at the event to demonstrate the products and explain the benefits they can bring to teleports.

“StingRay’s superior RF specs and hot-swap design, ideal for high isolation applications, makes it a unique product on the market,” said Mr Al-Ali. “It builds on ETL’s existing RF expertise, incorporating single mode fibre links to transmit and receive RF signals with remote control and monitoring of temperature, fan status and power supply status via a web browser interface and SNMP.”

Visitors can find ETL at Booth E3-32 in Hall 3 of the UK Pavilion. Mr Al-Ali, International Sales Manager, or Ian Hilditch, CEO, will also be happy to discuss tailor-made solutions to meet any unique set of challenges.

Demonstrations at CABSAT

New! StingRay RF over fibre range

Building on ETL’s existing RF expertise, the new range provides a unique design for high isolation applications. All chassis in the range are hot-swap with a range of fibre module options such as single or dual modules, 10MHz reference modules, and 13/18V LNB powering.

New! Dextra L-band splitters and combiners

ETL’s new Dextra series includes 4-way and 8-way splitters and combiners in both single and dual configurations and 16-way splitters and combiners, available as single units. The range offers consistently excellent RF performance, including high linearity and low noise figure, and outperforms some of the more expensive models available. Remote control and monitoring via SNMP web browser interface, with settable alarm thresholds, as well as flexible and configurable LNB power at the input ports of the splitters is also featured.

Vulcan Matrix/Router

The 128x128 Vulcan Matrix/Router offers large scale data gathering and is especially useful for large teleports and broadcast head-ends such as IPTV, and includes a compact 16U high shelf and dual redundant, hot-swap PSU’s and CPU’s. The product upholds ETL’s reliable reputation through hot-swap components and continuous monitoring through self-diagnostics and can be supplied part populated and expanded in increments of 8 for future requirements. The system also includes redundant mix matrix paths and can be controlled both locally and remotely.

Alto Amplifiers

ETL’s Alto series range of L-band Amplifiers will also be on display. The Alto family includes 4, 8 and 16 module options with variable gain and can be remotely controlled via Ethernet and web browser interface. The design of the amplifier is modular, allowing hot-swap of amplifiers and power supplies, and can be controlled locally and monitored via the front panel display with simplified push buttons. It is designed for the front end RF chain and provides amplification and slope compensation from cable loss for teleports and TVRO and head-ends.
