Eriez® Named a Finalist in Plant Engineering's Product of the Year Competition
Erie, Pa.- Eriez®, world authority in advanced technology for magnetic, vibratory and inspection system applications, has been named a finalist in Plant Engineering's 2009 Product of the Year competition for its revolutionary, environmentally-friendly EcoTowerSort(TM) Total Metal Recovery System. Plant Engineering magazine organizes the Product of the Year competition to recognize the best new products that help manufacturers operate safer, smarter and faster.

The compact EcoTowerSort, which is ideal for auto and e-scrap processing, enables total recovery of valuable metals at a lower overall investment cost. "Total metal recovery means more than just increased profits," said Ingram. "It also means less waste goes to the landfills."
The Eriez EcoTowerSort is designed to sort aluminum, stainless steel, copper cables and heavy fractions. It even recovers stainless steel and plastic coated wires. It uses a number of different modular sorting technologies. Common configurations may include rare earth drum separators, eddy current separators, inductive sensor sorter or near infrared sensors (NIR).
A unique vertical-stack design saves money and space by eliminating numerous conveyor and feeder systems, making it easy to integrate it into an existing plant. More decks can be added as needed. Top to bottom, a typical EcoTowerSort configuration may consist of a Rare Earth Drum Magnet, Eddy Current Separator, ProSort Metal Sorter and Sensor Air Sorter.
Voting for the 2009 Product of the Year will begin November 15 and continue through December 15. Qualified Plant Engineering readers who have buying/specifying responsibilities are the only people eligible to vote for Product of the Year. Winners will be notified in January 2010.
