Eriez Announces Plant Expansion at Eriez-USA
Eriez, world authority in advanced technology for magnetic, vibratory and metal detection applications, recently announced plans to expand its plant located in Erie, PA, which serves as World Headquarters and ships Eriez equipment across North America and around the world.
By expanding our Pennsylvania facility, we will be able to increase our production and service capabilities for our North American customers," said Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez President and CEO. That's important in our very competitive environment.
This announcement comes after a 2005 that was, according to the company, a record year by any measure. Collectively, Eriez topped $100 million for the first time, divided almost evenly between its North America and international business, said Shuttleworth.Likewise, profits reached a new high.
The Erie plant, which opened in 1963, is currently 100,000 square feet and houses the company's sales, marketing, engineering and manufacturing operations, as well as Corporate offices. The upcoming expansion will add 24,000 square feet high ceiling space to the facility. The groundbreaking is scheduled for Spring 2006 and the expansion should be completed by November 2006.
While Shuttleworth is proud of the company's accomplishments in 2005, he has even more ambitious goals for the upcoming year. "Records are made to be broken and we plan to do just that in 2006," he said. "The expansion will allow Eriez to manufacture its largest magnets and systems in-house. That means improved delivery and productivity.
