Energy and Water Conservation Needs in 2015 Result in Raised Awareness, Savings

AM Conservation Group Forms Partnerships to Meet High Demands and Exceed Revenue Milestone

CHARLESTON, SC – With the effects of climate change leading the list of national headlines, energy and water efficiency awareness hit an all-time high in 2015 and supporting the energy sector to enhance resistance to climate change became a major goal for the country. In order to meet the high demands of efficiency efforts, AM Conservation Group (AMCG), the nation's leader in energy and water conservation solutions, expanded its products and services while exceeding the $100 million revenue milestone.

AM Conservation Group's growth in 2014 resulted int he company being named to the 2015 'Roaring Twenties' list by SC Biz News making them the second fastest growing large company in South Carolina. As a developer, manufacturer and distributor of professional-grade products, part of what earned AMCG this honor was in their ability to meet increased industry demands by expanding its services to utility, electric cooperatives and municipality customers. The company's focus has been geared towards providing a broader range of offerings for customers to meet conservation goals.

"Awareness of energy and water efficiency has drastically changed since the beginning of 2015, as the uncertainties about the scope of climate change impacts pose new challenges for utilities and municipalities," said Todd Recknagel, CEO of AMCG. "Improving energy efficiency is one of the most constructive and cost-effective ways to address challenges of high energy prices and climate change. AM Conservation Group works with utilities and municipalities to create custom efficiency programs to improve conservation efforts in homes and businesses. Providing the latest technology in efficiency products is a top priority to better support our network of customers. With several strategic partnerships, we're now able to offer a variety of ways to help utilities and municipalities reach their customer bases."

In May, AMCG was acquired by Kohlberg and Company, which allowed the financial opportunity to grow its services. Shortly after, a key investment in Service Concepts allowed for more robust product line for electric co-ops. With new competitive pricing, AMCG was able to better access customizable services and programs. AMCG finished the year with a partnership with GoodCents, which expanded demand-side management resources for utilities, as well as benefited customers with the ability to package services and products of both companies together.

"2016 will see an increased conservation demands in our country. The states with the least amount of freshwater - Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and California - all have projected 25-52 percent population increases over the next 20 years. This puts an incredible strain on energy and water providers, which is why efficiency becomes so important," said Recknagel. "There is not greater, proven way to balance the demands of these resources than through efficiency."
