Emerson Network Power Announces New Technology Conference Focused on Business-Critical Continuity

Galaxy 2005 Builds on Success of Emerson Network Power Incredible Universe

Columbus, OH [August 22, 2005] - Emerson Network Power, the global leader in enabling business continuity, today announced that the Galaxy 2005 technology conference will be held October 12 and 13, 2005 at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz. Galaxy 2005: Horizons in Business Continuity, will combine educational sessions with product demonstrations focused on helping enterprises achieve higher levels of business-continuity by embracing an adaptive architecture to adjust to the changes in criticality, capacity and density that are occurring in mission-critical facilities today.

The event builds upon the success of last year's Emerson Network Power Incredible Universe, which attracted more than 3,000 IT, network and facilities professionals to the Columbus Convention Center.

"We were overwhelmed by the response to Incredible Universe, which was a success by every measure," said Bob Bauer, group vice president, Emerson and president of Liebert. "With all the change that is occurring in mission-critical facilities today, there is a real hunger for more information on power and cooling technologies and their role in enabling business continuity. Educationally-focused events, such as Incredible Universe, Galaxy 2005 and the Liebert Business Continuity seminar series provide excellent venues for the market to get the objective, in-depth information it is seeking."

Bauer noted that the company plans to hold Galaxy and Incredible Universe events in alternate years and to rotate Galaxy events regionally to increase accessibility.

Galaxy 2005 will feature more than 20 C.E.U.-certified educational sessions on topics such as Powering Converged Networks, New Cooling Technologies for the Data Center and Improving Battery System Availability. The event will also feature a 15,000 square foot of exhibit space showcasing new technologies and solutions from Emerson Network Power including the brands Liebert, ASCO and Lorain including:
o UPS and power switching
o Alternate storage technologies
o Room and in-rack power distribution
o Room and rack precision cooling
o Integrated enclosure systems
o Power and cooling monitoring
