Emerson Introduces Online Operator Training with Vocal Instructor Narrations

AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 28, 2006) - Emerson Process Management is now offering a comprehensive DeltaV(TM) Operator Training Course using eLearning online training (www.emersonprocess.com/education). The new operator training course provides in-depth information on the DeltaV system, operator user interface, alarms, trending and module operation. This program is a cost effective alternative to traditional classroom training, as it eliminates the need for costly travel and lodging.

"Our challenge is to provide a more flexible method of training our customers who are not able to participate in traditional classroom training," said Jim Siemers of Emerson's Educational Services. "We've developed our DeltaV operator training as an eLearning course, offered over the internet, to meet this need. Our eLearning requires only a personal computer and a broadband internet connection. Customers can just log on and learn and stay on as long as they want." This on-line course is intended for operators, supervisors and managers responsible for the operation of continuous processes using the DeltaV system. Progress reports to management are offered throughout the course, as well as CEUs for completion of the course.

The DeltaV Operator Training Course is fully interactive -- it takes about 12 hours to complete and includes detailed, step-by-step instructions and illustrations with accompanying audio presentations, demonstrations, practice sessions, workshops, quizzes and a final exam. Using several individual lessons, the new user-friendly course offers detailed information on the DeltaV software including:

o DeltaV System Overview
o Operating Discrete Modules
o Operating Analog Modules
o Alarm and Events
o DeltaV Trending

"Emerson is committed to providing quality training enabling our customers to maximize their investment in PlantWeb technologies and achieve operational excellence," continued Siemers.
