HOPKINTON, Mass., Aug. 30 /-- EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced the formation of a new industry-focused information management consulting practice within its Global Services organization.

The new information management services practice, a critical element in EMC's professional services growth strategy, will help its largest customers in key industry verticals get the most business value from their information and drive business impact from their information management investments. EMC's recent acquisition of BusinessEdge Solutions, a growing, privately held, industry-focused business and technology consulting firm headquartered in the United States, forms the foundation of the new services practice within EMC Global Services.

EMC's new industry-focused information management consulting practice operates within an accelerated consulting delivery model that leverages assets which minimize time, costs and risk to engagements, including architectural frameworks, reusable solutions tools and templates and working demonstrations of integrated business solutions that feature thought leadership and best practice approaches. The new consulting practice strengthens EMC's position as a trusted advisor to its customers and partners, enabling them to improve business processes while optimizing the management and use of structured and unstructured information.

The new services practice will be lead by BusinessEdge's co-founders, Peter Gibson and Shailendra Jain, and will continue to leverage BusinessEdge's existing business development resources and services delivery processes and methodologies to focus on servicing the financial services, life sciences and communications, media and content industries.
