Elliott to Supply Compressor Trains for India's Largest Ethylene Plant

Jeannette, PA, May 12, 2010 - The Elliott Group announced today that it will supply the compressor trains for a 1.1 MTPA ethylene plant to be built in Dahej, India. The contract was awarded by The Linde Group of Germany. Together with consortium partner Samsung Engineering of Korea, Linde will build the turnkey plant for India's ONGC Petro-additions Ltd. (OPaL). When it comes on-line in late 2012, Dahej will be India's largest ethylene plant, and the anchor of a larger petrochemical complex.

The Dahej plant will operate one of the largest ethylene crackers in the world. Elliott will supply the main cracked gas compressor train, including three of Elliott's largest compressors, an 88MD2, an 88M4 and a 60M4/4I driven by an Elliott 2SNV-10 steam turbine with a rating of 65 MW. In addition to the cracked gas compressor train, the contract includes an ethylene compressor train consisting of a 70M8-6 compressor driven by an SNV-8 steam turbine, and a propylene compressor train consisting of a 46M9-8 compressor and a 56M6I compressor driven by an SNV-6 steam turbine. Auxiliaries include a lube oil system and a buffer gas system. The Dahej compressor trains will be built and tested at the Elliott Group's manufacturing facility in Sodegaura, Japan.

"As ethylene plants become larger and equipment operating requirements are pushed to the limit, fewcompanies can demonstrate leadership and experience at these power ranges," said David Baker,Elliott's Regional Director for Engineered Products. "Elliott's strength in refrigeration compression and
large-scale ethylene production is longstanding. This order demonstrates the confidence that Linde andOPaL have for Elliott equipment and project execution."

"Elliott's experience in India with several other ethylene projects, and our ability to meet the difficultprocess requirements were instrumental in winning this order," said Oliver Conger, Elliott's Sales Directorfor Europe, Middle East and Africa. "The Elliott teams in Europe and Japan are extremely pleased to be working with Linde. This order demonstrates the value that both companies can bring to themarketplace."
