Thomas Insights (TI): What do you think is the biggest challenge facing industry today, and how is JC CHERRY INC. working to overcome it?
Osamu Arai (OA): The development of test sockets for narrower pitches and the radiofrequency of the semiconductors are some of the biggest challenges facing our industry today. Our challenge is: how can we design and provide high-mix products with efficiency?
Over the years, we’ve found that establishing an agile operational approach and maintaining a creative mindset in response to customer challenges have allowed us to respond to even the most advanced technical issues from our clients.
TI: What sets JC CHERRY INC.’s custom electronic components apart from the competition?
OA: We are able to do custom round pin sockets and probe pins. Because of their superior quality and reliability, these components can be used even in the most demanding situations, such as high-temperature or vacuum environments.
Unlike our competition, we actually offer several different types of special connectors or sockets that many other companies may not be able to offer. With our vast experience, we can respond quickly and provide agile service to all of our customers.
TI: How do you help customers overcome hurdles?
OA: A few months ago, a client came to us when they had a negative experience with another supplier. After ordering a product from the other company, they were disappointed with the component quality and found the product wasn’t manufactured to their satisfaction. Looking for a solution, they contacted our team. We were able to develop a creative approach that solved their problem and addressed all of their unique needs.
This story, though, isn’t really unique. We see this scenario often — in many cases, customers come to us when they have a problem they need solved.
