Electro Industries Announces Acceptance of its Nexus 1262 and Nexus 1272 Watthour Meters by the Technical Standards Committee of the US Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Unit

Westbury, NY Electro Industries/GaugeTech, the Leader in Web Accessed Power Monitoring, announces that two of its leading edge Watthour meters: the Nexus 1262 and Nexus 1272, have been accepted by the Technical Standards Committee "A" (Electric) of the US Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Unit. The Nexus 1262 and Nexus 1272 meters will appear on the list of acceptable meters for all Corporations and Rural Electric Cooperatives (RECs) working with the USDA's Electric Programs' Unit.

Founded by the Rural Electrification Act of 1936, the Electric Programs of the USDA exist to aid development of electrical capabilities in rural environments, through the granting of loans and loan guarantees. They provide leadership, as well as capital, to help improve, expand, maintain, and replace the vast rural electric infrastructure of the United States. They help make possible construction of new electrical distribution, transmission, and generation facilities; system improvements and replacement necessary to provide and improve electrical service in rural areas; energy management assistance; energy conservation programs; and development of both on and off-grid renewable energy systems.

To insure the highest quality results, the Electrical Programs of the USDA require that all RECs working with them use only materials that have been accepted by Technical Standards Committee "A." The acceptance of the Nexus 1262 and Nexus 1272 meters is a demonstration of the high quality and dependability that Electro Industries/GaugeTech brings to all their products.
