Edmund Optics® Unique Stock Optics Catalog Published for Access Online or Offline

Barrington, N.J., February 2, 2010 - Edmund Optics has printed and electronically published its 2010 Unique Stock Optics Catalog both online and offline, so that whether you search for an EO part number in either the printed book or its interactive digital counterpart, each product is instantly accessible within a few page turns.

Featuring the world's largest inventory of optical components, Edmund Optics' catalog describes and illustrates some of our most innovative and unique stock optic, including Compound Parabolic Concentrators, Hybrid Aspheres and Mid Wave Achromats. With over 21,000 stock components, we have optics to meet the most demanding needs of the research community as well as industries as varied as defense, biotech, semiconductor and machine vision. If EO does not have a component that meets your needs, we will do our best to make it for you - it might even become another of our unique stock optics.

In addition to the printed version of the catalog, EO's digital catalog is an exact replica accessible online anytime, anywhere. Fully linked to the EO website, the digital catalog offers enhanced PDF and printing features, which allow digital users to create custom PDFs on any selection of pages from the EO catalog. The enhanced PDF printing in the digital catalog means that users can save specific pages, or the entire catalog, to a PDF file on the user's desktop. The user can then access the specific page(s) needed without going online to view the catalog.

Shopping for optical components has never been easier. With optical components and instruments fully linked by stock number, enhanced searching allows the user to search by product item number, description or category. Results are shown with page numbers and categories listed for all possible matches. When clicking on the page number, an animated red arrow points to the chosen product in the catalog's main window. As stock numbers are hyperlinked to the EO webpage, selected products can be added to the customer's shopping cart.

Navigation is simplified either by accessing the Table of Contents and clicking on a specific section, or by clicking on a specific product in the search window. An animated page flip allows the viewer to "thumb through the catalog," while a slider bar at the top of the screen lets the viewer move quickly to a desired page number.

For those accustomed to using "sticky notes," a yellow sticky note can be added to any specific page for the viewer to note questions or concerns for later review. The viewer simply clicks on an icon, jots down his or her notes, and a yellow tab appears on the side of the page where the note is waiting. The catalog's tool bar features buttons that allow adjusting page zoom, printing one or more pages, jumping to a desired page, emailing a friend or colleague, and creating shortcut icons for quick page access.
