Eaton Announces Industrial Breakthrough; Improved Ratings for Vickers 35V Series Vane Pumps with Water-Glycol Hydraulic Fluids

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that Eaton's Vickers® 35V Series vane pumps have been tested and qualified to operate at full pressure ratings with good quality, water-glycol hydraulic fluids. The improved ratings make the pumps an industrial breakthrough in applications in which water-glycol hydraulic fluids are used, such as die-cast, primary metals, forging, and automotive assembly/welding. "Pumps are normally de-rated when used with water-containing lubricants, such as water-glycol hydraulic fluids," said Eaton's Thelma Marougy, lubricant specialist. "With the new 39 percent rating improvement, Eaton's Vickers 35V vane pumps can now operate at full rated conditions to satisfy today's market needs." The testing, conducted at Eaton's engineering facility in Eden Prairie, Minn., certifies that Vickers 35V vane pumps are qualified to 2,500 psi (172 bar) at 1,800 rpm with inlet pressure of 0-5 psig, enabling them to perform at higher ratings (full rated conditions). Featuring a 7.37 in3/rev displacement, Eaton Vickers 35V pumps have a pressure-balanced design that offers long service life. Their low-noise output reduces operator fatigue, and downtime is minimal since the pumps are easily repaired in the field. Double and thru-drive options are available for high/low circuits. Complete pump specifications, pricing and lead times are available immediately through Eaton and its global channel partners. Eaton's Hydraulics Group is a segment of the company's Industrial Sector.
