Eastman to Exhibit Systems to Improve Composite Material Cutting at ACMA 2010
BUFFALO, N.Y., USA - Eastman Machine Company, manufacturer of cutting machines, automated cutting systems, material handling equipment, and software solutions will exhibit at the 2010 Composites Expo in booth 1009. Eastman representatives will be on-site February 9-11, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
Eastman Machine Company will operate a 60" wide x 16' long automated CNC static cutting table during show hours, cutting fiberglass, kevlar and other composite materials. The Eastman M9000 is a single to low-ply cutting system that provides superior cutting performance and increased throughput. This fully automated cutter plotter is capable of marking, drilling and punching virtually any flexible material at speeds of up to 60 inches per second (152.4 cm/s). It is the ideal choice for sample making and prototypes and is the system of choice at leading composite manufacturing facilities around the world.
The material is spread across the static table and its internal blower system ensures material hold-down for cutting accuracy. It registers accuracy of +/- .015 inches (.4mm), with higher accuracies available. The standard table top surface is porous plastic, but is optionally available in Lexan®, Urethane, PVC, and microfiber. The M9000 offers optimum material yields, reduces labor costs and lowers operating costs.
All Eastman cutter plotter systems feature individually aligned and calibrated tool holders which may be fitted with any combination of rotary and straight knife blades, notches and punches. Depth limiters are standard to protect cutting surfaces. All tool heads include a pneumatic pen or marker holder and can be optionally equipped with EasiMark(TM). EasiMark (TM) is an airbrush system especially useful for marking fabrics like fiberglass where traditional printing will not work but parts identification is required.
