Early Adopters See Productivity Increases with Juki's New Intelligent Storage Management Solutions

MORRISVILLE, NC - Juki Automation Systems, a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and systems and part of Juki Corporation, announces that VirTex Enterprises has discovered productivity gains in the storage of critical components since purchasing the Juki ISM 2000 Fortress. After receiving the fortress, VirTex discovered a plethora of ways it could be used to enhance productivity and lower labor costs.

"The fortress is one of the best productivity innovations I have seen in a long time for high-mix, low-volume EMS companies," Brad Heath, CEO of VirTex Enterprises. "It greatly reduces the cost of changeover for us by allowing us to schedule changes on-the-fly based on customer demand without committing a lot of manpower to the change. As we fully integrate the fortress into our ERP system, I think it will significantly impact our bottom line."

Juki Regional Sales Manager Chris Guest recently visited VirTex Enterprises in Austin, Texas to follow up on the new Juki ISM 2000 fortress. VirTex purchased the ISM 2000 shortly after viewing the system at its APEX debut in February. VirTex has quickly discovered additional advantages and uses for the system, which has exceeded the company's initial expectations. VirTex houses critical components that require sub five percent humidity storage, and the Fortress is a dynamic storage solution that reduces the need for larger stock rooms, reduces labor costs for pulling and stocking inventory, and provides better inventory control functions with VirTex's MRP system.

"The advances in productivity that VirTex is realizing with Juki products are fantastic and we expect this partnership to grow as the system is fully integrated," commented Guest. "The commitment to quality and productivity that VirTex is demonstrating to their customers with the Juki ISM system is a continuation of how small and medium firms are providing a competitive advantage to American manufacturing in a truly global market. What is really exciting is that the gains are not limited to the low-volume, high-mix customers. We have already seen some of the defense contractors embrace this technology and have a lot of interest from other customers focused on building medical devices."

As with all of Juki's core products, the ISM units come with a standard three-year system warranty. The units also are supported by a world-class service organization. For more information about Juki, visit www.jukiamericas.com.
